Pastor Richard Mogged

Pastor Richard aka "Dick" is the Outreach Director for New Vision. He and his wife, Pam, are long standing members.

His heart is ministering to people who are broken and needing a hand up.

He ran a men's Rehabilitation Center for 13 years in Florida and when he returned he was eager to jump right back into his long awaited church to lend a ministering hand.

Pastor Richard oversees the Free Grocery Store aka food pantry. Every Monday he and other volunteers collect food from a food distribution center and bring it back, unload it, and prepare for the 80 to 150 people who come ever Monday evening and are able to free shop.

Shoppers:

Welcome to New Vision Food Pantry. We are excited about the opportunity to minister to your family! Every week, we serve the best variety of canned goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and meat, if it is available to us.

Our Grocery Service is open every Monday from 5pm-7pm except holidays. Shoppers are allowed to visit our pantry every Monday. Our pantry is handicap accessible. For more information, call the ministry office at (217)423-7333 and ask for Pastor Dick Mogged.

Volunteers:

Every week, our food pantry is open (except major U.S. holidays). In order to serve such a large number of Shoppers, we coordinate a huge team of volunteers each week. We are always accepting new volunteers. We have a large variety of opportunities ranging from driving the box truck early in the morning to get the food, to unloading the truck in the early afternoon, to staying after the pantry closes to help clean up. Some jobs are physically demanding, but others are not at all.

If you are looking for a way to help the community, we have a place to fit you in through our food pantry ministries. For more information on volunteering to make a difference in our community, contact our outreach director, Dick Mogged, at (217)423-7333. We look forward to serving with you!

Joe and Brenda Rieck

Are faithful members at New Vision. Their quietness of spirit is out shined by the love and passion to serve in the church.

Brenda assists Pastor Dow with various projects and Joe is outdoorsy and loves to bring beauty to the property by planting flowers.

They volunteer whenever and however they can. They are wonderfully sweet people who have a heart to serve.

Every Christmas year they take on an enormous project, called The Joy of Giving Christmas Giveaway.

This is a huge undertaking and they do it with Joy in their hearts.

The purpose of this event is to teach the children the joy of giving and to provide Christmas presents for the entire family. We give out tens of thousands of dollars of brand new merchandise every year. Here is a video from 2019 Christmas Giveaway!
